n Brodosplit shipyard, a floating unit project for storage and transshipment of natural liquefied gas (LNG) from LNG ships to the mainland has been developed, to meet the needs of consumers and for the production of electricity. The purpose of the FSRU (Floating Storage and Regasification Unit) is to receive and store liquefied natural gas (LNG), and vaporize such LNG, initially to meet the needs of NG consumers, and for power generation. The FSRU is based upon a ship-shaped hull moored to a concrete jetty hard berth. The FSRU shall be able to receive and send out LNG simultaneously to provide a constant flow of LNG to the regasification facility. LNG Storage on board the FSRU will have a target storage capacity of 286,000-m³ (98%). The FSRU shall be capable at one continuous offloading operation of receiving a load of 220,000-m³ or abt 140,000,000 m³ corresponding to an LNG carrier of Q-Flex type. A minimum of 66,000-m³ buffer storage will be built into the FSRU to ensure an uninterrupted gas supply. Accommodation for operations and maintenance staff shall be located at the stern of the vessel. The main machinery space with power generation shall be provided below the accommodation unit. The cargo space is divided into five (5) cargo tanks, separated by cofferdams and constructed by independent tank IMO type B (or with the membrane-type containment system) for the carriage of LNG cargoes at cryogenic temperatures (-163°C). These tanks extend above the upper deck and are enclosed in the trunk. Double bottom/double side tanks and peak tanks will be intended for segregated ballast.
