System and installation details
The control unit connects to the antenna unit with a single coaxial cable. Using standard coaxial cable, up to 500 meters of separation can be achieved, allowing flexible antenna placement with clear line of sight to satellites. The system can operate as a vessel's primary satellite communication terminal, for crew calling, or as a backup solution, combining GMDSS safety services with Iridium voice and data in a compact terminal.
