Wind farm service boat ALN 100 ‘Endurance’

The ‘Endurance’ is the sixth in class of the highly successful ‘Wave Commander’ series of wind farm support vessels used for transfer of maintenance personnel and equipment to offshore wind turbines although she is also fitted out for survey and dive support roles. Her hull form has been proven to offer exceptional sea keeping properties and this impressive boat is powered by twin 883bhp electronically controlled Caterpillar C18 diesel engines driving five bladed 800mm propellers through Twin Disc MGX 5135 ‘Quick Shift’ gearboxes. These give her a top speed of 26 knots and she is also fitted with powerful twin electric bow thrusters which give her excellent manoeuvrability. She carries a complement of 2 crew and 12 passengers in comfort within the large deckhouse which houses a galley, WC, wet space, component racking and storage areas. She is fitted with an array of the latest electronic equipment including a satellite ‘man-finder’ tracking system, 3-D sea bed profiling as well as radar, AIS, GPS, Chart plotter, WI-Fi internet, and Satellite TV.
