Damen Marine Components

We design and manufacture a range of premium systems that are vital for the propulsion, manoeuvring and performance of vessels engaged in all types of maritime activity. These include short sea, deep sea, offshore, ocean-going, inland waterways and naval vessels, and superyachts. Our primary products are nozzles, winches, controls and steering and rudder systems. The last two categories are sold under the Van der Velden trademark. As well as supplying Damen’s global network of shipyards, we work closely with third-party ship building and repair yards and distributors of maritime equipment around the world.

With over 150 years of experience, we have established a reputation for producing products that are advanced, high-quality and reliable, based on its in-house engineering capabilities and continuous feedback from customers, third-party naval architects and maritime research institutes. While offering a comprehensive range of standard solutions within each product class, we also work with our clients to provide customised and semi-customised solutions to meet specific requirements. Our engineering team with its German, Dutch and Romanian naval architects is focused on providing optimal manoeuvrability designs for every type of vessel, compliant with any class society.
