Your suggestions for improvement:
VSAT antennas are used aboard ship because of their small size and low cost compared to other commercial systems.
ApplicationsThanks to their bandwidth capability, especially on the downlink side, these devices provide an internet connection, IP telephony, access to streamed data (video while underway), video conferencing and television service.
TechnologiesMost VSATs use the Ku and C bands. Shipboard antenna stabilization is necessary to ensure correct orientation. The shift from SCPC to TDMA technology and the arrival on the market of numerous providers have reduced costs considerably.
How to chooseChoice will depend primarily on the type of services required. For example, an antenna more than a meter across can be linked to a repeater occupying less space and requiring less power. Smaller models are sufficient for basic services such as internet and IP telephony, but are not recommended for multimedia applications.
