How to choose this product

A thermal or thermographic camera is a video camera that creates images of heat-emitting bodies by detecting the infrared radiation they give off. NauticExpo offers portable models, those for boats, for yachts and other versions.
Applications
These devices have a variety of uses including night vision, gas detection, machinery and operations maintenance, crack detection and rescue efforts.
Technologies
Such cameras operate in the 3-14 µm (thermal infrared) range. This enables them to detect the infrared portion of the electromagnetic spectrum emitted by various bodies. Warmer bodies emit more radiation than cooler ones. The thermal map created by the camera constitutes a temperature-based image of the emitting body.
How to choose
Choice criteria include, size, sensor life, image definition in pixels and spectral sensitivity.
Advantages
- Vision without light
Disadvantages
- Suboptimal image definition
