TechnologiesPumps operate in different ways. A centrifugal pump uses a rotating impeller to increase the speed of the liquid that arrives on the intake side and expel it radially, creating pressure on the downstream side. Positive displacement pumps, whether of constant or variable volume, use cyclical movements to draw in and expel the liquid.
