Your suggestions for improvement:
A boat radar reflector is a safety device which amplifies the vessel's radar echo. This makes it easier for ships to detect the boat, reducing the risk of collision. Models offered on NauticExpo are intended for leisure craft.
ApplicationsSuch reflectors are particularly useful aboard vessels made of composite materials, which constitute poor radar targets.
TechnologiesReflectors use angled metal surfaces to enhance the reflection of radar signals. They can consist of stacked metal disks in a transparent plastic tube or take the form of a globe or a cube. They are mounted on the highest point of the vessel, in the rigging of a sailboat or the antenna mast of a powerboat.
How to chooseTubular reflectors are well-suited to sailboats because they do not increase top hamper, which reduces performance. In addition, their rounded form is less likely to snag lines and sails. All the various systems reflect radar signals with roughly the same efficiency.
