Markey Machinery Company recently delivered a new design TDSD-24WF diesel "waterfall" double-drum towing winch to Smith Marine Towing for installation on their new tug "Smith Invader." This design features two drums, equally sized, for up to 2350 ft. of 1-3/4" wire, and stall line-pull to 150,000 lbs. The winch is powered by a below-deck John Deere / Funk diesel power unit, also furnished by Markey. Drum dogs (optional) were also furnished on this new design. Markey is well known for its robust, yet lightweight, designs that include towing winches, anchor windlasses, capstans and all kinds of other deck machinery.
