A finely tuned new size flow has made the Vapor ideal for any marine board, rider, or race course. A new 6.7 m2 to fit an SDM 460 offers the best entry in that size to date. Dominate the Race scene the world over as you ride what very well could be the fastest sail ever designed. Just ask Dave White, who pushed the 007 sail to 46.2 knots, beating every other brand on the marketplace.
Advances in boat mast technology have redoubled quality as the Vapor features a fresh new luff curve to match Gaastra's lightest fastest mast yet. Meticulously tuned camber pressures continue to make rotation a snap, while Gaastra's wrinkle-free wingsock, presents a super clean leading edge. |

With the launch of the new RS:Boat racing sail, comes the introduction of the following key elements in the RS:Racing Programme.
Limited Production:
RS:Racing sails are built in their own production area within the NeilPryde factory by a dedicated crew of skilled workers who specialise in RS production. Production is limited to 250 RS:Racing sails per month due to the complexity and high degree of precision required to build RS:Racing sails. RS:Racing sails will be available to order throughout the year...

The 2008 Mega X line was completely redesigned and it combines all the modern design features. The result is a demanding and professional speed machine for all engaged speed, slalom and race sailors.
A new and slimmer mast for boats sleeve profile, out of innovative “Lektra”; a light, stable and semi-transparent foil material. With the use of this special material, it was possible to significantly reduce the sail weight. A further plus is the reduced boom length for compact handling. Four cams and 7/5 or 8/5 batten configuration in the cross batten concept ensure maximum control. Easy rigging is achieved with reduced luff tension and zipper openings at the cams.
The Mega XS line is designed for speed and slalom disciplines, the Mega XR line will suit for boat formula/race sailors.
Key facts:
7 battens with 5 tubes or 8 battens /5 tubes, depending on size and range of use
Reduced boom length
Airfoil leech design with light wing top for more control in a broad wind range
New mast sleeve out of “Lektra” for less weight
TIP:
With our special Carbon Tuning Kit you can get even more power for your Mega X sail. |
|
Key facts:
Reduced boom length for more compact handling
7/4 or 8/4 batten configuration in cross batten concept
Airfoil leech design with light wing top for more control in a broad wind range
2 clew eyelets for flexibility of boom height in different conditions
Medium-sized mast for boats sleeve combined with deep profile for maximum early planing power
The brand-new freerace sail, Cannonball is the follow-up model of the Booster.
This sail was designed for sporty fast riders and BOAT GPS racers, who demand a maximum of performance on all headings.
In comparison to a pure race sail the Cannonball is easier to sail and requires less effort than a full on race sail.
User-friendliness and comfort are further key characteristics of our speed machine.
A medium mast sleeve, 3 new cams, reduced boom and 7 / 8 battens in the cross batten concept provide immense early planing power, top acceleration and maximum top end speed.
With the harmonic characteristic of the deep profile and distinctive loose leech you can sailboat cover an extremely broad wind range. The Cannonball is equipped with four stiff tube battens which fixes the centre of effort and eases the sail control in the upper wind range. |

The Kona OD sails are no-cam, light for boats weight and power full foils -especially designed for longboard racing with their tighter leech and fuller shape.
The construction is 100% monofilm for minimum weight and max stability, but with lots of color. The sails utilizes inset clew grommets which allow for the use of a shorter sailboat boom, to achive maximizing stiffness. The inset clew grommets also provide a more natural twist pattern. |

| The SC and FC are the full blooded, Slalom Competition and Formula Competition World Cup racing sails. From ultra light wind upwind tactical performance to heavy air downwind slalom, the SC and FC will get you to the finish line first. For 2008, focus has been placed on increasing the wind range of each size, while keeping the power low in the sail for better overall control. Batten number 7 crosses the sail at boom level, giving solid and direct adjustment on adjustable outhaul systems. Kevlar Stretch Control Tendons create a framework of reinforcements through the Body of the sail to minimize cloth stretch in key areas, greatly increasing wind range and positive handling characteristics. |

The 3-XC is all about excellent race performance in an easier to rig sail. The 3-XC offers a narrower boat mast sleeve than the full race model. This narrower sleeve makes rigging and water starting easier. The cams are easy to install on the mast with zippers in the sleeve at all cam locations. Featuring all the best performance features of the full race model- race outline, full and powerful draft, fine entry, tube battens, incredible range and control - the 3 cam is 3-XC will give you the power and range you need to beat the competition. This sails have been designed, tested and developped by Sylvain Moussilmani.
CONSTRUCTION: 5 and 7 mil mono film body boat panels, X-ply and Kevlar perimeter paneling, Dacron patch reinforcements, Kevlar Stretch Control Tendons. Batten count- 7 with 5 lightweight tubes Camber Inducers- 3 at batten 4, 5 and 6.

| The 2-XC offers easy rigging, great low end power and effortless handling. Featuring 6 battens, and 2 simple mini cams for a full draft profile and a low and locked center of effort, the 2-XC is the best choice for light wind drag racing against your friends. Plane first- fly fastest. The 2-XC features perimeter X-ply paneling for durability, and Kevlar stretch control tendons for excellent high end control. Compared to the 2006 X-CAM, the 2-XC features a lower aspect ratio for better acceleration and control, a flatter entry profile for better top end speed, more foot area for better low end power and acceleration, longer batten tube sections for improved foil stability and less luff curve. Less luff curve makes the sail easier to rig and downhaul. |

| Better pumping ability due to softness and smoother distribution of depth throughout luff curve. Kai consciously used very high luff tension, which created strong sail foil tension in the lower third of the sail. This means a stiffer profile in the area where power is generated. The INDIVIDUAL.BATTEN.ANGLE ensures maximum stability in the lower power center. The battens are arranged at almost horizontal angles to take full advantage of stiffness. The extreme sail profile at the level of the rider was also consciously chosen since this area of the sail is responsible for maximum propulsion and therefore plays a decisive role for acceleration. |
|
| The S_TYPE combines the advantages of its predecessors the R_TYPE and DAYTONA, which you can tell by the SWITCHABLE.CAM.OPTION. The S_TYPE can be ridden with 3 or 2 cambers, which significantly expands the range of applications for this sail. This allows the rider to individually adjust the sail to maximum speed or easy rig control. The optimized mast for boats pocket based on the CONICAL.AERO.SLEEVE.DESIGN represents the ideal compromise between the best possible propulsion and comfortable water start behaviour. The fact that all S_TYPE sails can be used with just one mast length makes this rig affordable for all. |
|
| For 2008, the Retro is sporting a slightly lower center of effort, made possible by a smaller head, longer chord and deeper foot profile. Mitigating the longer chord length is a clew cutout for the sailboat boom end on all the 7-batten Retro sizes (6.0 m˛ and up), which reduces the actual boom length, despite the lower aspect ratio. The clew cutout has additional advantages in that it lowers the swing weight of the rig and makes it possible to use a given boom on a larger size sail than was previously possible. |
