FAST FIND complies with tough international standards. It operates on the global COSPAS SARSAT 406MHz search and rescue satellite communication system, which is supported by international government search and rescue authorities around the world, so a call for help will be acted upon and fast. The FAST FIND is subscription free and does not rely on commercial call centres.
There are two models in the FAST FIND PLB range, the FAST FIND 200 and the FAST FIND 210. The 210 has integral 50-channel GPS for additional pinpoint location, further speeding up time of location.

The Fastfind Plus -20°C PLB benefits from a dedicated built in GPS sending a highly accurate location position typically +/- 50metres within a few minutes of switching the unit on. This enables the rescue authorities to greatly reduce their search time
As with the rest of the Fastfind range, it has been designed to provide professional and recreational mariners, general aviators, and those involved in outdoor adventure activities the very best chance of being found without delay in the event of an emergency anywhere in the world, as long the PLB can see the sky. The Fastfind must be registered with your national registry to ensure prompt response upon activation.
It has a self test facility and a simple three-stage manual operation for activation. The discrete antenna is only deployed once the unit has been activated. The Fastfind is waterproof to a depth of 5 metres and the -20°C PLB battery operates in temperatures up to +55°C and has a 5 year storage life. Once activated, the Fastfind will operate for a minimum of 24 hours. The battery is owner replaceable.

Meeting the demands of both commercial mariners and recreational boaters, the new McMurdo SMARTFIND heralds the arrival of the next generation in EPIRB technology and comes complete with a Carry Safe Manual Bracket.
E5 SMARTFIND is a 406 MHz EPIRB designed to operate with the COSPAS-SARSAT international search and rescue system. Once removed from its Carry Safe Manual Bracket the unit can be activated automatically by immersion in water, or manually by following the activation instructions printed on the unit.
