The bilge pump removes water from a boat's bilge. The vast majority of bilge pumps offered by NauticExpo are for relatively small vessels. These include hand-operated pumps, electric pumps and submersible models.

Applications

Bilge pumps are found in all types of vessel. Those offered by NauticExpo are not suitable for ships.

Technologies

The bilge pump is a type of positive-displacement pump. Since bilge water may contain traces of fuel, electric bilge pumps are specially designed to not produce sparks.

How to choose

If more than one bilge pump is used, the main pump should be located at the lowest point of the bilge. Secondary pumps will sit a little higher. Choice will depend on pump dimensions and flow.
