The SWI-TEC Stabilizer with bag is a passive boat anti-roll device that reduces rolling movements by up to 50%, improving comfort at anchor, reducing seasickness and allowing a more peaceful anchoring experience. It is intended for use only when stationary (at anchor or in port) and never underway.

How it works
The stabilizer is a box-shaped unit with movable plates that is lowered into the water on a line. During downward motion the plates open to let water pass; during upward motion they close and dampen the movement. The surface area and plate design generate braking resistance in the water to reduce side-to-side rolling.

Installation & placement

• Attach to a line and secure to a cleat or lower railing support; always position slightly deeper than the hull so it doesn’t touch and can displace enough water.
• Can be mounted on the side, at the bow or stern depending on wave direction.
• Depending on vessel weight, one or several stabilizers may be used; for best effect mount multiple units on the same side.

Storage
Foldable elements allow compact storage in the supplied bag when not in use. Keep dry before packing to protect materials.

Suitability & limitations
Designed for use on boats up to approx. 25 tons (depending on number of units used and deployment). Not recommended in very rough seas or extremely high waves (excessive strain on cleats/railings). May be less effective if placed too close to the hull or if it contacts underwater obstacles (seagrass, wreckage, strong tidal currents). When deployed at the bow it may interfere with the anchor chain. Must not be used underway.

Maintenance & safety

• Check mounting point strength and inspect connecting elements, loops and screws for damage or corrosion before use.
• Rinse with fresh water after use to avoid salt deposits.
• Only store in the bag when fully dry.
