Product descriptionCleaning ECO 87 is a state-of-the-art dispersant specifically formulated for remediation of the sea from hydrocarbon spills, and for cleaning hulls, bilges and metal parts of vessels. Its action fragments crude oil into very fine droplets, greatly facilitating biodegradation by microorganisms naturally present in marine environments.
Cleaning ECO 87 is effective in waters of varying salinity — marine and lake surfaces, streams and industrial water systems. Cleaning ECO 87 is totally biodegradable and non-toxic to marine flora and fauna, as certified by an accredited third‑party laboratory. It has passed dispersant-emulsifying efficacy, biodegradability and toxicity tests on algae, crustaceans and fish as required by the Decree of the Ministry of the Environment and Protection of Land and Sea, and has received official approval as a dispersant product for sea remediation.
Cleaning ECO 87 is effective in both calm and rough sea conditions and can be applied on the water surface with lance sprayers or similar devices, either neat or diluted with water (sea water or fresh water). Dosage and concentration depend on the quantity and type of spilled hydrocarbons. Cleaning ECO 87 disperses and emulsifies light and heavy hydrocarbons, as well as organic and biological sludge, feces and fouling; it is particularly recommended for heavy hydrocarbon dispersion. The special formulation and the use of Cleaning ECO 87 as an oil spill dispersant or as a cleaning agent for sand, rock formations, shorelines, machinery, tanks, cisterns and drilling rigs are covered by Italian and European patents.
