Designed for Handysize bulk carriers and product tankers, general cargo vessels, reefers, feeder container ships, and small LPG carriers operating in deep sea, coastal and inland waters. Very low fuel consumption over the whole operating range as a result of high stroke-to-bore ratio, proven common rail system in combination with electronically controlled fuel injectors. Outstanding low cylinder oil consumption thanks to precise, dedicated for small bore / low power per cylinder CLU-5 system Fully compliant with IMO Tier II requirements. Fully compliant with IMO Tier III NOx emission levels when equipped with a SCR catalyst. Additional scrubber solutions to reduce SOx emissions are available. Alternatively, an engine internal exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) is being developed and available depending on requirements. Available in 5-cylinder up to 8-cylinder configurations, covering a power range from 3,250kW to 9,080 kW at 104 to 146 rpm. Wärtsilä and China State Shipbuilding Corporation (CSSC) have established the company “Winterthur Gas & Diesel Ltd. “ which takes over Wärtsilä’s 2-stroke engine business.
