ship evacuation

The Mini ramp systemcomes with a choice of a 50 DKR open reversible liferaft, a 39 DKS or a 50 DKS self-righting liferaft packed into a single aluminum stowage box. The system is designed for evacuation heights of up to 2.5 m. and is designed and certified all RO-RO passenger ships and vessels according to HSC Code. It enables crew to evacuate up to 51 persons in one go. Evacuation at the push of one button The VIKING Automatic Gangway is easy to install and stored in a box placed flush with the ship side, bolted to the deck and ready to go. No bowsing lines or welded connection points necessary. It is automatically launched by pushing a button on the stowage box or on the bridge. The system has an integrated 12V battery - no electrical connection to the vessel is necessary. When deployed, the door and gangway motion is stabilized to compensate for ship and water conditions. Half of the gangway is covered with a friction surface for walking down to the liferaft at low angles. The other half has a smooth, painted surface that allows evacuees to slide down to the liferaft when the gangway is at the maximum angle of 55 degrees. Approvals The system is approved after heavy weather sea trials with significant wave heights of 3.0 m with See BG in accordance with SOLAS MSC. 81 (70) and LSA code as the notified body. The liferaft is EC type-approved (EC Directive 96/98/EC with DNV as the notified body) for use in restricted areas, defined by the national administration. The system, the associated gangway, the liferaft and all equipment complies with ISO 9001 requirements for quality assurance in design, development, manufacture, sales and maintenance.
