Overview
The Viking 50 Open Express combines high-performance offshore capability with a salon-like interior and tournament-ready deck layout. Designed for owners who demand speed, comfort and serious sportfishing features, the model offers a wraparound windshield, integrated hardtop and a raised command deck for excellent sightlines. Below deck, accommodations include a forward master suite and a guest stateroom with upper/lower bunks; the salon provides generous seating and two dinettes.

Construction & engineering
Built to Viking standards of structural integrity. The 50 Open Express uses a resin-infused fiberglass hull, resin-infused structural bulkheads and custom fiberglass fuel tanks. Components such as hatches and doors are produced using Light Resin Transfer Molding (LRTM) for consistent fit, reduced weight and improved acoustic performance.

Fishing & cockpit functionality
The cockpit is specified for tournament fishing with in-deck fish boxes, a raised transom live well, mezzanine storage with refrigerated/freezer capacity, and extensive dry storage. Optional Palm Beach Towers tower provides elevated sightlines. Helm ergonomics include flush-mounted multifunction displays and a helm pod with single-lever style controls for intuitive operation.

Power & systems
Standard propulsion is twin MAN V8 1200CRM engines rated at 1200 MHP each; Scania 1150 MHP is offered as an option. Viking integrates factory-installed electronics and tower packages to deliver turnkey systems and streamlined installation.
