Description

Overview
The SKAW [A] is a simple, comfortable 12-metre cruising yacht that blends the best of catamarans and monohulls. It is the first cruising sailboat to combine a scow hull, retractable C-foils and the interior volume of a catamaran of the same size, together with a hydraulic lifting keel. Built in France and available at the end of 2026, the SKAW [A] applies technological advances from competitive sailing to cruising use. The design aims for faster, safer and more enjoyable sailing and delivers a compact hull with a large interior volume.

Scow Shape : powerful, comfortable, and seaworthy
The SKAW [A] features a scow-type hull inspired by ocean racing, optimised for fast cruising and comfort. Key advantages include:
  • Exceptional living space - the volume of a 40-foot catamaran or a 50-foot monohull
  • Dry sailing - waves are deflected beneath the hull for greater comfort
  • Comfort, stability and exceptional glide

C-foils: more speed, more comfort
The SKAW [A] uses retractable C-foils derived from ocean-racing technology, simplified for cruising. Benefits highlighted:
  • Flat, stable sailing with no heeling
  • Higher speeds achieved effortlessly — a fast boat made simple
  • Average cruising speeds between 12 and 18 knots without strain

A lifting keel: dream anchorages, speed & safety
The hydraulic lifting keel offers variable draft and multiple operational advantages:
  • Variable draft from 3.5 m to 1.2 m, enabling access to shallow waters such as isolated anchorages, rivers and secluded coves
  • Maximum safety — unlike a multihull, the boat cannot capsize
  • Racing performance — the power and responsiveness of a true racing boat while offering anchorage freedom

Construction & Availability
Built in France. Availability planned at the end of 2026. The SKAW [A] brings foiling-derived technology and high-performance naval architecture to cruising sailors without requiring prior foiling experience.
