Description

Overview
Q-DVL is a fully self-developed sonar sensor module by QYSEA Technology based on Doppler Shift principles. Seamlessly integrated with FIFISH ROVs and proprietary AI algorithms, Q-DVL achieves deep hardware-software fusion to extend the capabilities of DVL applications for marine inspections and subsea operations.

Deep fusion of hardware & software
Q-DVL leverages deep learning neural networks and fuses data from the ROV's IMU (accelerometer, gyroscope), depth sensor and magnetometer to enable an Underwater Inertial Navigation System (U-INS), station lock hovering, smart collision avoidance, and real-time distance and altitude lock.

Key Features
  • Innovative fluid-inspired Tri-beam Inline design and compact dimension for forward navigation tasks.
  • Vertical U-INS (Underwater Inertial Navigation System) expands inspection capability and precision.
  • Forward Station Lock Hovering with 10 cm macro focus distance for close-up inspections.
  • Forward Collision Avoidance to reduce risks during close-range operations.
  • Distance Lock & Track for reliable and steady inspections.
  • Four-beam Downward Q-DVL optimized for station lock and hover across flat terrains (e.g., seabeds, riverbeds).
  • Supports bathymetric mapping outputs (2D & 3D) and mission planning functions.

Variants & Components
  • Tri-beam Inline Q-DVL (forward)
  • Forward Inline Q-DVL
  • Downward (Four-beam) Q-DVL
  • Q-DVL Plus
  • Q-DVL Max
  • Tri-directional Inline Q-DVL
  • Related components: Q-Cam D/L and laser scaler integration options

Extensive applications & functions
  • Multi-dimensional U-INS for omnidirectional navigation across vertical, curved and irregular surfaces.
  • Precise station lock hovering: 360° omnidirectional locking without dead angles for stable inspections.
  • Smart collision avoidance using bi-directional distance data and AI algorithms.
  • Real-time distance & altitude lock to support precision tasks and inspections.
  • Bathymetric mapping enabling 2D and 3D map outputs for seabed surveying.
  • Subsea mission planning with customizable points-of-interest (POI) and one-key return functions.

Technical characteristics / specifications
  • Maximum detection range: up to 100 m
  • Hovering accuracy: centimeter-level (high-precision hovering)
  • Station lock height range: approximately 0.1 m to 100 m
  • Macro focus distance (forward inline): 10 cm
  • Integrated sensors: IMU (accelerometer, gyroscope), depth sensor, magnetometer
  • Navigation system: U-INS (Underwater Inertial Navigation System)
  • Key functions: station lock hovering, forward collision avoidance, distance lock & track, altitude lock & track
  • Design options: Tri-beam inline (forward) and Four-beam (downward) configurations
