Overview The Pogo 50-2 is a 15 metre fast cruising yacht designed for sailors who want to cover long distances and cross oceans quickly and confidently aboard a seaworthy and coherent hull. The design prioritises controlled lightweight construction, balance, simple handling and a high level of sailing performance.
Mission and target use The Pogo 50-2 targets a clear balance:
- Sailing fast and easily on all points of sail
- Remaining comfortable, seaworthy and reassuring
- Making life on board easier for short-handed or family crews
It is intended for:
- Long ocean passages
- Round-the-world voyaging
- Relaxed cruising without sacrificing sailing pleasure
- Offshore racing entries
Architecture & design Designed in collaboration with naval architecture firm Finot-Conq, the Pogo 50-2 benefits from an extensive development process covering hull form, structure, ergonomics and build quality. The project notably includes:
- High-aspect ratio swing keel providing strong performance while allowing access to shallow anchorages
- Simple and efficient rig with a carbon mast, square-top mainsail and headsails on furlers for a powerful yet easily handled sail plan
- Hull inspired by modern IMOCA concepts with fine entries and rapid widening to generate power and stiffness under sail
- Watertight bulkheads and integrated buoyancy foam volumes for enhanced offshore safety
Interior layouts & life on board The Pogo 50-2 is conceived as a true cruising yacht where autonomy, reliability and simplicity are key, both underway and at anchor. Interiors are arranged for comfortable long-term living with fluid circulation, functional storage, natural ventilation and durable materials. Several interior configurations will be offered:
- 3-cabin version with a very spacious owner area forward, suited to short-handed sailing
- 4-cabin version with generous cabins for family cruising or collective use
Project status The Pogo 50-2 is currently in the final design phase. Final specifications, drawings and technical data will be released progressively as the project advances.
