The GS-1 mainsail is our all purpose sail recommended for Finn sailors 94-102kg. The GS-1 main is also used by lighter teams in light wind (up-to 12 knots). It features a full radial construction and is built out of North Sails exclusive NLXi-03 Technora sail cloth. The GS-1 comes standard with Carbon headboard and stick on Carbon Battens. Our proprietary “NorLams” feature very wide angle eXact “X” reinforcement yarns, eliminating the need for scrim “carrier” yarn content (carrier yarns add weight and bulk, without contributing to strength or reducing stretch). In some instances, laminate materials from other sailcloth suppliers are specified – for example when a certain sail or rule requirement indicates this is the optimal choice. In all cases, the best cloth for the application is the cloth you will find in every North One Design sail.
