The LA Fire Boat 2 was completed and delivered to the Los Angeles Fire Department in 2003. The complete propulsion system consists of two 1800 HP Detroit Diesel 12V4000 diesel engines coupled to a Voith Schiffstechnik Cyclodal Drive system. The fire-fighting system is made up of six pumps delivering 31,000 gallons per minute at a range of 550'. The LA Fire Boat 2 is one of the most powerful fire boats in the world today.
