CONTAINMENT & PROTECTION SOLID FLOATATION BOOM/BAFFLE New Naval's Scorpion P-Series Permanent Boom (Baffle) is a heavy-duty, fence type boom that is designed for long-term or permanent nearshore, harbor and in-land containment and protection operations. The robust design and durable materials allow the boom to withstand constant use over extended periods of time without needing constant maintenance while ensuring its functionality when encountering heavy debris concentrations and harsh operational conditions including currents up to 3 knots. The rigidness, durability, buoyancy and strength of the boom, supported by hard exterior floats, make it ideal for permanent installations. The Scorpion P-Series Fence Boom is manufactured from high durability PVC coated polyester fabric with bolted floats Hard shell, rotary molded polyethylene (PET) floats filled with polyurethane foam are high temperature pressed to form the outer skin The boom has two tension members, enclosed PET webbing on the top and a hot-dipped galvanized (HDG) chain on the bottom. These tension members provide the boom with excellent axial tension distribution that is extremely important for long-term boom applications, tensile reinforcement at the top of the boom with double fabric area provides extra support. The P-Series comes with ASTM Z-type end connectors (INOX U-bolt, Hints & Pins SS 304 or other custom connectors available) The P-Series comes in a variety of dimensions and boom sections can be produced in various lengths
