LONG LINE & MULTIDAY NM-28 FISHING BOAT MK1 DESIGNED FOR BOTTOM & DROP LINE, GILL NET FISHING COASTAL FISHING The Neil Marine NM 28 pioneered the use of GRP (glass-reinforced plastic) fishing-boat construction in Sri Lanka. Based on a tried-and-tested wooden hull design produced in Britain for small-scale coastal fishermen, it was a game-changer for drift-net fishing, which was the mainstay of Sri Lanka's domestic fishing industry. The reputation of the boat was further enhanced when it was adopted by the United Nations for a major project to create a modern fishing fleet in Somalia, which resulted in 500 boats being made and delivered. DECK - FIBRE GLAS DECK WITH MOULDED NON SKID SURFACE REINFOCED WITH HARD WOOD DECK BEAMS AND POLYURETHANE LONGITIDINALS GLASSED OVER Fore peak, Fish Hold, ,Net Hold and Engine Room hull compartments Spray deflector planks fitted on fwd. deck sides Fwd. and aft mooring posts fitted on deck 12 Volts DC main electrical system with 2 x120 amp Battery Banks for engine start and lighting Fibre glass cabin fitted on aft deck above the engine room with removable floor boards fitted for engine access . xternal fibre glass rudder on skeg is fitted with tiller arm operation Vessel lighting consist standard vessel lighting and navigation & fishing lights fitted on light mast.
