252 m (826'09")
The 252 meters long AIDAbella was handed over to the Rostock-based shipping company AIDA Cruises, at the end of March 2008. Numerous curious onlookers and shipbuilding-interested people watched the impressive spectacle of undocking in the early morning on the 24.th of February 2008.
In terms of size, technology and comfort, the AIDAbella matches her sister AIDAdiva: She consists of 55 steel blocks, each weighing 450 tons – a true challenge for man and technology. The shell itself already weighed almost 25.000 tons.
The four new diesel engines are also very impressive: They provide the club ship with 50.000 hp and allow the ship to operate at a speed of 22 knots.
