The AIDAblu is the fourth of a total of six new ships for AIDA Cruises and the seventh of the entire AIDA-fleet. Like her sisters she is 252 meters long and has a breadth of 32 meters.
MEYER WERFT delivered the AIDAblu to AIDA Cruised in early February 2010: In a spectacular naming ceremony that took place in Hamburg on February 9th 2010, she joined the fleet. The godmother is the international fashion designer Jette Joop.
With an additional half deck, the AIDAblu provides even more space than her predecessors. The wellness area was extended by 450 sqm and is among the largest spa areas on the oceans.
The AIDAblu has a total of 1.096 cabins, of which 728 are outside cabins with windows or balconies. 34 cabins do have a generous balcony with direct access to the spa area. A new restaurant concept provides more space in the indoor- and outside areas.
