Description

Wired After the success of his previous yacht built by Lloyd Stevensons, Time to Burn, the owner commissioned the construction of this 52 foot canting keel race yacht. The brief was for a high performance race boat, but with an interior comfortable enough for short family cruises, and after race socialising with his crew. Built in carbon laminates over a PVC foam core, Wired is an incredibly strong and stiff yacht that has performed well in both harbour and coastal races as well as offshore. The canting keel and lifting daggerboard provide the horsepower and sailing performance, with wireless technology utilised to control the daggerboard trim tab, keel, sailing instruments and computer tactical and navigation systems. Wired has enjoyed some great successes on the race course, including harbour and coastal races, while her real strength is in offshore fleets where the canting keel set up comes into its own in reaching conditions in heavy breezes.
