The Kanter 57 was designed as a no-nonsense ocean-voyager that can safely take you and your whole family anywhere in the world, from Nova Scotia to the Caribbean, from the Mediterranean to the South Pacific. No matter the destination or weather conditions, the Kanter 57 will get you there in safety, style and comfort.
The rugged, yet refined construction of this no-nonsense ocean voyager combines both the elegance of a cruising yacht with the safety and strength of an offshore rescue boat. In keeping with the Kanter tradition of elegance and attention to detail the Kanter 57 sets a new standard in dependability and safety.
Designed by noted yacht and commercial vessel designer David Gerr, the Kanter 57 is rivalled in strength and stability only by the Kanter 45, as her welded-aluminum hull exceeds both Lloyds and ABS specifications. Structurally stronger than any fibreglass hull, the Kanter 57’s aluminum construction also offers much more resistance to abrasion and grinding, an important feature for any serious cruiser.
The Kanter 57’s hull, decks and cabin sides are longitudinally framed for maximum strength and the fairest possible hull surface. The hull design is a modified vee-bottom with a chine flat that widens as it passes through the last eight feet of hull bottom where planing occurs. At the transom, the dead rise is a shallow seven degrees and at the bow, a deep 65 degrees. To ensure exceptional performance, virtually all of the twist has been eliminated in the aft sections through the extensive engineering and modeling of modified vees.
