Many Skippers will have experienced si-tuations whereby the windscreens of the wheelhouses are steamed up and the view is impaired. Such situations are nerve-wra- cking and rather dangerous and might even lead to marine accidents. The solution is quite clearly; the installation of a demister. This device is able to clear the windscreens within less than 30 seconds and will keep them absolutely clear for as long as requi- red. The HFL demister is a small device which can be installed below the dash-board. Air from the wheelhouse is drawn in and heated up through electric heating elements and then distributed via four small flexible tubes. The air outlets could be nozz- les which spray the air at wide angles over the screen. Different solutions available. The demister is powered by 220 V, 50 Hz, single phrase, however for special applications models with DC power can be manufactured. Apart from separate installa-tions the demister can be installed in con-junctions with an airconditioner. This would even enhance the speed in which the windows are cleared. The dimensions are small and the created noise is unobtrusive.
