This axial piston pump circulates steering fluid when the wheel is turned. A lock valve and pressure relief valve safeguard the system from unexpected feedback and excessive pressure. It provides linear movement to the engine, steering the boat to starboard or port. It is required, where the helm pump while being turned pushes the fluid, such that it travels through the tubing and displaces the cylinder. It is designed to carry steering fluid between the helm pump and cylinder, it is flexible for easy routing and tested to withstand pressures exceeding normal operation, ensuring leak-free performance.
