OverviewWith a 'heat dissipation - thermal insulation - heat dissipation' metal-clad structure, the panel provides vacuum-based through-thickness insulation and metal-surface in-plane heat spreading. It is designed for thermal management and insulation of energy storage and battery systems over a wide temperature range from -196°C to 800°C. The wide-temperature M-VIP can replace non-vacuum insulators such as high-silica cotton, ceramic fiber felt, aerogel felt, glass fiber paper, PIR and PUR.
Product DescriptionThe M-VIP is our fifth-generation vacuum insulation panel. External cladding is aluminum foil or stainless-steel foil and the core contains basalt fiber, high-silica fiber and other refractory core materials. The core is vacuum-evacuated and the panel is sealed by welding. M-VIP is suitable as a high-temperature insulation alternative to high-silica cotton and aerogel-based materials, combining low thermal conductivity with high and low temperature resistance.
Advantages- Integrated heat-spreading and vacuum insulation: metal cladding provides in-plane heat dissipation while the vacuumed core provides through-thickness insulation; edges can be connected to heat sinks for system-level thermal management.
- Demonstrated steady-state performance: 8 mm M-VIP shows lower rear-face temperature and slower heating rate than 9 mm aerogel felt at 400°C and 600°C.
- Improved transient response: better insulation performance than aerogel felt in rapid temperature-rise tests.
- Mechanical and safety properties: puncture resistance, high compressive strength, long service life and Class A non-combustibility.
Applications- Cryogenic storage and transport (e.g. LNG tanks, cryogenic freezers for samples and vaccines).
- Aerospace and aviation (spacecraft insulation; high-temperature aircraft components and electronics).
- Industrial high-temperature equipment (furnaces, kilns, petrochemical reactors and piping).
- Energy sector (thermal energy storage such as molten-salt systems; high-temperature components in nuclear power).
- Automotive and transport (EV battery pack insulation; exhaust system insulation).
- Building and construction (high-performance and fire-resistant insulation).
- Electronics and data centers (thermal management and heat spreading).
- Food and beverage (high-temperature cooking equipment; cold-chain logistics).
- Scientific research (laboratory high-temperature and cryogenic equipment).
- Renewable energy (insulation for solar-thermal systems and wind components).
