Fischer Panda, well-known for their variable-speed diesel generators for onboard power, has developed a complete brand-new range of variable-speed Hybrid DC Generators for battery-charging.
This new product range is available in various output voltages up to a current of 300 A and an output power of up to 100 kW and comes with a new control system which allows various set-ups as well as the connection to a CAN BUS system.
A new control system monitors the variable-speed Hybrid DC Generator and provides information on the generator as well as the connected drive system and batteries. The operator receives information about overall power being drawn, power supplied for battery charging and the electric drive system. When using batteries only, the battery-charging status as well as the remaining driving time are also displayed.
The yacht can either be driven by batteries or in a hybrid mode by using batteries and the variable-speed Hybrid DC generator. An emergency mode whereby the generator supplies the electric drive directly (without batteries) is also possible.
Conventional engines are mechanically connected to the propeller so that the engine RPM and propeller RPM is fixed. However, the generator speed is regulated in accordance with the required power. This brings green motion technology in electric propulsion a step forward.
The engine RPM of the variable-speed Hybrid DC generator can be adjusted to meet the propeller power demand. This reduces noise and fuel consumption.
All variable-speed Hybrid DC generators come with the super silent sound insulation capsule.
