Description

CargoBoss is a cargo and ballast monitoring software that acts as the eyes and ears of seafarers, allowing constant monitoring of all the critical parameters of liquid cargo tanks. What Is It? CargoBoss is a user-friendly software that can be run on any PC running Windows XP. It is designed to monitor real-time data such as ullage, pressure, temperature, volume and mass of any tank carrying liquids. One or more workstations can be used to monitor cargo, ballast or service tanks, using specific mimic displays. Output communication is provided based on the Modbus RTU protocol. How Does It Work? CargoBoss captures critical data related to liquid cargo, ballast and service tanks such as data for level, pressure, temperature, ullage, corrected volume, mass and ballast level in real time from the TA3840 communication rack. It also aggregates other information such as trim, heel and GPS data. CargoBoss then provides an accurate view of this data using an intuitive human-machine interface (HMI) and communicates it via RS-485 Modbus to the load computer and the ship system. An optional GSM modem allows communication of all this data, including GPS position, fuel consumption and other parameters, to a remote FTP location for use by the owner, oil company or charterer. What Problems Does It Solve? Liquid cargo management and ballast management require greatest attention to detail. A reliable, user-friendly interface is a great aid to users in charge of these responsibilities both during loading/discharging and voyage.
