Technical descriptionThe Power 39 is a modern adaptation of 1930's Pacific Northwest 'Dreamboats' — cruisers defined by a raised foredeck with sleeping accommodation, a deckhouse with windows all around over the engine space, and a covered aft cockpit. Increased beam and a hard chine-vee bottom provide better initial stability and excellent performance at higher speeds while preserving the Dreamboat silhouette.
PerformanceAt half-load displacement of 8,000 kg the P39 cruises at 10 knots with a comfortable 375 NM range including a 20% fuel reserve, or up to 468 NM maximum range without reserve. At 14 knots the range is 270 NM with 20% reserve. With 190 kW power she reaches a top speed of 17 knots, offering semi-displacement performance from a wooden hull.
ConstructionMultiple planking layers on a combined transverse and longitudinal laminated mahogany frame. Entire structure laminated with epoxy — modern engineering with traditional craftsmanship and detail. Wood fully sealed and joined to eliminate maintenance issues or deterioration.
AccommodationForward: full-width owner's cabin with centreline double berth, lockers port and starboard, opening skylight and portlights. Aft of that: roomy head with separate shower stall to port and a guest cabin with upper/lower berths to starboard. Three steps up to the deckhouse — windows all around, helm and nav station forward, in-line galley aft on starboard, dining area with lift-up table. Covered aft deck with seating, removable table, watertight storage below, and arched wooden swim-grid at the stern.
