The ELME Spreader Model 818 Pioneer is a gantry-mounted telescopic top-lift spreader designed to handle laden ISO containers up to 55 tonnes for heavy-duty gantry operations. It is intended for high-demand users requiring robust structural strength and easy maintenance access.

Twistlock system
The spreader uses proven hardened ISO pendular twistlocks with hydraulic activation and mechanical interlocking to prevent faulty locking/unlocking, delivering reliable engagement in heavy-duty conditions.

Gantry mounting with Mechanical Pile Slope (MPS)
Designed for gantry-mounted lift trucks dedicated to container handling. Four telescopic hangers connect the spreader to the gantry and allow automatic adaptation to containers on trailers or uneven ground. Gravity maintains the level position.

Telescoping, sideshift and rotation system
Telescoping is driven by one hydraulic cylinder per end beam; sideshift by a single hydraulic cylinder mounted on top of the main frame. Rotation is performed by a slewing ring with double transmissions and brakes for positional holding.

Control and protection system
ELME Neuron CAN bus monitors spreader status continuously. Indicator lights inform the operator of seating and lock status. Signals act as preconditions for protection functions such as lift interrupt. Neuron communicates via J1939 and provides fault codes for driver and maintenance alerts.
