The ELME Spreader Model 584LF is a telescopic side lift spreader for the simultaneous handling of two empty ISO containers. 584LF engages and secures two containers with two horizontal lifting hooks and side clamps. Model 584LF can handle one or two containers in 20-40ft and is designed to be integrated on the carriage in the mast of a forklift truck. ELME spreader 584LF allows the driver to handle one 45ft container in 40ft corner castings and to drive in free speed with one or two 20-40ft containers and without speed limitation also with one 45ft container. The spreader has a low profile main beam resulting in excellent visibility towards the spreader’s engagement points, particularly at high lift heights. SIDESHIFT A generous sideshift movement of ±600 mm (1200 mm in total) provides operational flexibility. FLOATING END-POSTS The head and bottom of the spreader end-posts are integrated, and the end-posts have a a floating distance of 200 mm. Floating end-posts facilitates handling of containers on/from a sloping surface. • Two lifting hooks enter the side apertures of the top corner castings of the lower container and two hydraulic side clamps will enter the apertures of both containers. • ISO containers and Binnen containers can be picked up without any modification of the spreader. CONTROL AND PROTECTION SYSTEM Electrical systems monitor the state of the spreader at all times. Indicator lights advise the operator when the spreader is correctly seated, locked or unlocked. Each signal is a precondition for the important protection functions of the spreader, such as twistlock activation, telescoping and lift interrupt.
