The Voyageur II is a great way to get a group on the water. Similar to the original Voyageur, it is modelled after the tried and true design of the Voyageur Centennial Canoe. The Voyageur II easily holds 10 paddlers, and also comes with removable centre seats. Its versatility makes it ideal for kids camps, first time paddlers, and tour groups. Introducing VOYAGEUR II The Voyageur II is a great way to get a group on the water. Similar to the original Voyageur, it is modelled after the tried and true design of the Voyageur Centennial Canoe. The Voyageur II easily holds 10 paddlers, and also comes with removable centre seats. Its versatility makes it ideal for kids camps, first time paddlers, and tour groups. The Voyageur II is significantly different from our original design. It is more maneuverable with features such as slightly increased rocker and a more shallow arch hull. It is also much more stable than the original, at 50” wide at the 6” waterline. As with all of our Big Canoes, the Voyageur II was designed to be virtually maintenance free: there is no wood to be varnished or oiled, and the inner gunnels are black anodized aluminum with a custom vinyl outer gunnel for longevity and durability. All of our Big Canoes have a lot of positive flotation, with a foam core in the hull, bow and stern float tanks as well as 4” thick foam under each seat. Large canoes are often referred to as WAR Canoes, particularly in articles written in the late 1900’s. Today we refer to them as ‘Big Canoes’. Aluminum thwarts for maintenance-free durability Seats standard with styrofoam 4.5″ x 10″ to provide maximum flotation
