Hornblower Cruises and Events contracted with All American Marine to build a very unique 68′ x 16′ aluminum passenger monohull. The vessel has capacity for 145 passengers and will be operated by Horblower Niagara Cruises in Niagara Falls Ontario, Canada.
The vessel was designed by Elliott Bay Design Group and E.Y.E. Marine Consultants. The open deck configuration allows each passenger to have an up close and personal experience of the falls. While the vessel is well suited for excursion tours, the vessel also was purpose-built for rescue capabilities. The monohull is fit with push knees on the bow and a tow post behind the wheelhouse that can be utilized to assist Hornblower’s two other Niagara tour boats, if needed. A rescue platform was also integrated on the starboard side for man-overboard recovery.
The rescue vessel is powered by pair of 700-hp Scania DI13 engines with ZF Marine 550 transmissions and MJP UltraJet 452 waterjet.
