Ship power management system PEMS™

PEMS™ - Power and Energy Management System ABB’s Power and Energy Management System (PEMS™) is the core of a vessel’s combined power and control system. It ensures optimal use of the vessel’s total power resources in a safe, energy efficient and environmentally-friendly manner. The PEMS™ is closely integrated with the electrical system by use of high speed digital communication within ABB’s switchboards, protection devices and controllers. This improves the information flow from the devices and additional electrical measurement equipment can be removed. Through this embedded solution, PEMS™ gives full control from power generation to the end user. Where energy storage solutions or other alternative power sources are installed onboard, engine loading is optimized to suit.
