How to choose this product
A wheelhouse center console boat has an open deck plan with an enclosed helm. In contrast to a simple windshield, the wheelhouse is a small cabin affording protection from the elements while en route to fishing grounds, work zone or just out for a ride.
While common in the recreational lineup, these craft are very popular for both amateur and professional fishing because they combine ample deck space with the comfort of an enclosed helm.
The wheelhouse can be quite spartan, a simple sheltered steering console closed aft by nothing more than a curtain. Other versions are spacious and well-equipped. Some models have outboard motors, but the increased size of these boats makes inboards more common.
How to choose
Intended use will determine the choice of model. It should be noted that most professionals prefer an aluminum hull.
- Protected helm
- Spacious deck
- Increased weight
