ZF disc-type propeller ShaftBrakes, recommended for vessels using engines over 500 horsepower with reduction ratios of 4:1 or greater, meet the heavy maneuvering demands of high-performance workboats.

Our ShaftBrakes use hydraulic actuated calipers which are self-adjusting and spring retracting, alleviating unnecessary pad wear. Sized to handle 80 percent of the full-rated shaft torque and designed to operate with a maximum hydraulic pressure of 1800psi, our ShaftBrakes bring a propeller shaft to a stop from full speed in two to five seconds, providing maximum drive train protection.
