In June 2010 the RNZYS launched a brand new fleet of ten Elliott 7m sports training boats, these replaced their fleet of Elliott 6's. This has boosted the programme numbers as the new boats are sailed with teams of four crew; helm, main, trim & bow.

Yachting Developments took on the job to give something back to the sailing community and it was also an advantage for the Yachting Developments apprentices as they were given more opportunities in house.
