The superstructure is made up of hand laid fiberglass and utilizes an end grain balsa core for structural rigidity and weight reduction.
The Wesmac Hull. Wilbur Yachts has developed the Wilbur/Wesmac 42 based on the Wesmac 42 hull. This boat retains the renowned seaworthiness of the semi-displacement (lobster boat) hull, while allowing for the speed that fishermen and pleasure boaters look for today. It is available with single or twin engines. Either will cruise between 22 and 25 knots and will attain top speeds between 25 and 30 knots. We%u2019ve developed two basic styles, the Cruiser and the Sportfish version. Shown here are two examples of the Sportfishing version. %u201CPlatypus%u201D (above) is a full dress sport-fisher designed for extended cruising, whereas %u201CWake%u201D (left) was built for charter fishing. We are a custom yard that designs and builds boats to suit our customer%u2019s specific needs; maybe we can build one for you.
