We have been able to break through the limitations in mooring lines. In 1989, in conjunction with DNV and our customer, we started supplying studless chain for the Vesslefrik project. Following this, we further developed the studless chain design which has become the prime component in permanent mooring systems where chain is used. This enabled our industry to have confidence in a safe and reliable product, eliminating problems of stud looseness and loss, which together with a saving in weight, reduces costs and increases payloads on floating structures. In this field, Vicinay Cadenas has supplied the largest chains ever made to the strictest standards.
