Sonar for ships (3D)
FS-3DT
VEINLAND
The FS-3 DT is a new product which uses Dual Transmission™ technology. It provides a 90 degree field-of view depth map with a single ping. However, the FS-3 DT also includes a narrow beam 1/4 range mode.
This Dual Transmission™ design can be configured to automatically switch between the standard 90° ping and the long range narrow beam ping. The system includes a 2U rackmount power module and a stream-lined sonar head with Dual Transmission™ capabilities. The user interface is SonarSoft™ software which is a Windows XP software package that is capable of networking a single sonar head with up to 4 user interface
stations. The FS-3 DT operates at 60 kHz and has an accuracy of about a 1.6 degrees. The FS-3 DT is capable of generating three dimentional images with a single ping even in shallow water.
It can be used for obstacle avoidance and navigation to help mariners avoid hitting shipping containers, rocks, and whales. No moving parts are used in the FS-3 DT system. There is no need to wait for the system to scan in various directions to build the image. The technology is capable of scanning every angle simultaneously.
