The hull form, with the ULSTEI N X-BOW®, combined with a redundant diesel electric propulsion system, ensures the best performances with regard to speed and fuel con- sumption. The main propulsion system comprises two shaft line propellers of controllable pitch type in nozzles, each shaft line driven by two variable speed electric motors in tandem configuration.
