CARBON 45

Until very recently, a 30% carbon content was the norm for recreational masts. Tushingham have upped this to 45%, in order to reduce the weight and bring further improvements in reflex response. The Carbon 45 is built using a wet lay-up system. Although not ultimately as precise as the pre-preg system, this construction is still used by many well-known brands to produce their flagship models. The fibres are woven onto a steel mandrel under a resin bath, prior to heat treatment and finishing. It's a proven, cost effective system that makes a reliable product within reasonable limits. The Tushingham Carbon 45 was the most sold mast in the UK last year. It also proved to be the most reliable with a minimal number of claims.
