This newly developed anchor watch system uses a 3-axis sensor to capture the current position of the anchor on the sea bed. It reports any change, especially in the anchor chain pull direction.
The system displays the anchor position on the sea bed graphically, thus allowing you to make deductions on the holding force of your anchor. One example: A stirrup anchor lying on its side at an angle of 45 degrees is almost certainly not properly dug in and should be dropped anew.
Other than GPS-based anchor monitoring system that only respond when the vessel has already drifted considerably, this system alerts the crew within a few seconds when the anchor slips.
Every anchor breaks out if the anchor shank is lifted too much under load. ANCHOR CONTROL can warn you before the anchor breaks out. The system monitors whether, and how much, the chain lifts the anchor shank. If the shank is lifted beyond a pre-selected angle the system generates a warning.
