Co-Star consists of a waterproof remote control and an LED display bar linked to a compass. The helmsman uses the wireless remote to set a heading. Data from the compass is used to illuminate an LED on the display bar; typically located on the coach roof, in the line of sight of the helmsman.
This easy to install display bar contains an array of high-powered, low energy adjustable LED's for clear visibility during the day or night. A light on the display indicates a 'star' to follow. LED's also provide feedback to help keep the boat on course.
Using Co-Star when helming at night, in fog or in busy waters, enables the helmsman to look out to sea and deal with changes of heading imposed by wind, tide or other boats.
Explains Peter Dudman, director of Star Marine Electronics; "This device gives the helmsman a constant heads up reference to keep them on course."
Once underway, fine adjustments can be set from the remote control and new bearings set.
