As well as the previously described propeller types, SPW also manufactures propellers for free-fall lifeboats in the commerical shipping sector. There are three major manufacturers of this type of special free-fall lifeboat on the global market. The fact that two of these shipyards are supplied by SPW means that, with these special propellers, SPW has cornered a 60-70% share of the world market.

They are manufactured from different materials, due to the fact that some of these free-fall lifeboats are launched from 36 - 40m above the water surface, which places particular demands on the propeller material. These propellers are all subject to series acceptance testing by the classification society "Germanischer Lloyd".
